Fibroids
Uterine fibroids are benign tumors found in female reproductive organs. They tend to be the most common cause of abnormal growths in female reproductive organs. Fibroids depend on estrogen for their growth and tend to diminish during the onset of menopause. There can be one or multiple fibroids, and they can range in size. One Chinese study used TCM to treat 223 cases of uterine fibroids. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine were both utilized. All patients were symptomatic with heavy bleeding, etc. Following a course of treatment, most patients’ symptoms decreased, and the fibroids were diminished or had dissipated in 72% of patients.
